This podcast is dedicated to telling stories by and about artists of diverse backgrounds and experiences. The Upstage produces play readings and interviews with playwrights to aid in exposure for artists and to spread awareness of social issues.

Readers: If you live in the Philadelphia area, and want to be a reader, send us an email. Make sure to tell us about yourself.
Playwrights: Submit your play! We're looking for scripts between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Limit your submission to one script. Send it to us, and tell us about yourself as a human, why you love theatre, or what makes your face light up.
As a small note: Please consider your privilege before submitting. If you've been successful as a writer, remember that the goal of this podcast is to make room for and hand the mic over to new voices.

WHAT'S WITH THE CAT?
Ariel was adopted by Ann in May. She is the definition of a cat that would not be adopted- blind, over a year old, and a superstitious, hard-to-photograph black cat! But, Ariel is deserving of a safe home and a loving environment.
If you feel like no one wants you, we do.
Just like Ariel, every human voice has worth and their stories deserve to be told. Today, marginalized voices are the least likely to be heard and produced. We want to foster those careers and stories.
Meet The Team
Ann Marley
Hi, I'm Ann! I'm a playwright, photographer, and graphic designer. I work in marketing at Delaware Theatre Company. My heart lies in mental health and victims' advocacy. I'm a graduate from Villanova University's MA in Theatre program, where I met Andrea!
I have three cats, and they're the coolest. Pippin is my firstborn. He's a pet therapist at a local chapter of Easter Seals. I wrote a musical after my second, Margot. You can learn about number three, Ariel, above! I'm also getting married to a pretty cool dude next year.
Andrea
Rumble-Moore
Andrea is a graduate of Villanova University's Master of Theatre Arts. During her time at Villanova she studied design, focusing on lighting, costume, and scenic. Although her first love was the magic of lights her time at Villanova has sparked a passion for costume and scenic design as well.
Recently Andrea designed lights for Hedgerow Theatre's productions of Moby Dick and Medea.
She was the lighting designer for the 2018 Villanova MainStage
production of Much Ado About Nothing, and also worked on The Gambler (lights), Bedtime Stories (lights and stage management), and over a dozen solo and performances pieces done in conjunction with classmates.
Dave Moore
Dave grew up in Bucks County, getting piano lessons from his mom and stealing minutes on his Dad's drum set. With multi-instrumental skills, Dave performs locally on bass guitar with prog rock group Waiting For December and recently began operating a sound company and recording studio, name Hear It. He has local live sound and sound design credits from local theatre companies and music venues throughout Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.
At home, Dave is often a busy-body, constantly cooking delicious things, brewing beer, leading worship at a West Chester area church, chilling with his dog Lupin, and being a [hopefully] good husband to his wife, Andrea. Dave hopes to use his skills as a musician, his innate connection and empathy with others, his impeccable ear, and his growing studio prowess to become a local fixture for coaching and development of musicianship, songwriting, and promotion.
